Loire Valley

Loire Valley – The Garden of France

Known as the ‘Garden of France’, the Loire Valley is a beautiful region which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. It’s easy to understand why with its rolling green hills, famous vineyards, magnificent châteaux and historic cities combining to offer a unique destination for educational visits.

The Loire Valley is perhaps most famous for its outstanding architectural heritage and is home to over 300 chateaux. From our conveniently located centres it is possible to visit such masterpieces as the chateaux of Chambord, Chenonceau, Amboise, Villandry and Valençay.  The architectural theme continues in the towns and cities of the Loire region. Orleans, Tours, Blois and Bourges are known for their medieval quarters with timber-framed buildings and narrow cobbled streets.

A departure from the historical context of the Loire, school groups will also enjoy a visit to the futuristic theme park Futuroscope.  Just a few miles north of Poitiers, this popular day out is focused on the world of multimedia and cyberspace, with 3D IMAX cinemas and a host of modern audio-visual shows and interactive activities.
