In Euroculture's early years youth travel was in its infancy and visits by groups of overseas youngsters were a newsworthy event and as such often appeared in the host town's local press.

A reporter and photographer would often be on hand to record the Farewell Evening - the party that highlights many a visit - giving the editor an opportunity to brush up on his or her foreign languages when devising the headline.
