The In Flanders Field Museum The Cloth Hall in the Belgian town of Ypres was reconstructed after war damage and is now home to The In Flanders' Fields Museum. This attraction has a strong educational programme aimed at putting the conflicts of the Western Front into greater context for younger people, giving special insight into the everyday life of the people affected. |

Lille Lillle was awarded the honour of being the European City of Culture for 2004. In the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Lille boasts the largest museum in France after the Louvre with an impressive collection of paintings and sculptures. In addition, Charles de Gaulle was born in Lille and you can visit his birthplace at the Maison Natale Charles de Gaulle. |

The Menin Gate The names of 54.896 missing soldiers are engraved in the Hall of Memory of the imposing Menin Gate, located just outside Ypres. The Last Post has been sounded beneath the memorial arches every evening at 8pm since 1928 to honour the memory of those soldiers of the British Empire who fought and died in the Ypres Salient in the Great War. Arrangements can be made for special extended wreath laying ceremonies upon request. |

Sanctuary Wood Museum Located just outside Ypres, the Sanctuary Wood Museum is a popular destination for UK schools with a wide collection of Great War artefacts including guns and shells as well as some of the only remaining preserved British trench lines. |

The Wellington Quarry -
La Carriere Wellington Arras is home to the Wellington Quarry, the fascinating new visitor attraction telling the story of subterranean life for the thousands of British soldiers who lived in former underground quarries which were adapted for strategic purposes in 1916. |

Ypres The centre of this town was rebuilt as close to the original designs as possible after the Great War and has plenty of attractions to offer visiting school groups, not least it's chocolate shops! |
