One of France’s foremost cities, Strasbourg is the capital of the Alsace region. With a history dating back over 2000 years, Strasbourg is an exciting and important city being, amongst other things, home to the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights. Lying close to the Rhine, Germany is just a short drive away from Strasbourg offering groups enticing possibilities such as excursions to the Roman spa town of Baden-Baden (home to the England football World Cup Squad in Germany 2006) or the charming small city of Freiburg. Strasbourg is also renowned for its annual Christmas market which first took place in 1570. With a wonderful setting in front of the city’s cathedral, it is one of the largest Christmas markets in France. BOOK EARLY for Strasbourg Christmas Market 2011!
