As the capital of France, Paris has so much to offer school and college groups visiting from the UK. With the world's highest concentration of students, it can truly be considered a centre of learning and we particularly recommend a Euroculture visit to Paris for groups of older pupils. As you would expect of a major global centre, opportunities are plentiful to enhance the classroom experience. It is a must for students of French language, history, culture, fashion or art, and tours provide an exciting opportunity to really soak up this vibrant city, an international icon also with a reputation in the worlds of finance, media, politics, science and leisure.
For many schools, a visit to the Musée du Louvre is an essential component of their schedule. The former palace houses one of the finest collections in the world boasting over 35000 works of art across eight departments. Perhaps most renowned for hosting the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, the impressive list continues with works by such famous names as Rembrandt, Van Dyck and Goya as well as some British favourites featuring Gainsborough, Reynolds and Constable. For students of art, though, the Louvre is just one of many luxuries available in Paris. Notably, the Musée D'Orsay on the banks of the Seine represents mainly French artists with Monet, Renoir, Cezanne and Degas on the menu, whilst the visually striking Pompidou Centre is home to the capital's collection of Modern Art.
Walking the city's streets is an experience in itself. Whether strolling the Tuileries Gardens and the Champs Élysées, window-shopping in the fashion houses of the Rue du Rivoli and rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, soaking up the atmosphere of the bustling Les Halles and Montmartre or just absorbing the bohemian atmosphere of the Left Bank and Boulevard St Germain - every corner turned presents something different.
The peripheries of Paris can also provide activities of interest to youth groups. Disneyland Resort Paris is just 20 miles from the centre to the east of the city, whilst Versailles and its famed Palace in located only 10 miles to the west. Don't just take our word for it, Paris is on your doorstep and will leave an indelible impression on your class. With our extensive knowledge of the French capital, you can trust Euroculture to deliver this city to you with an itinerary arranged to suit any group's aims - whether curriculum-based or purely sightseeing.
