All five of our Normandy centres are an ideal base for schools visiting this fascinating region.

Here is just a selection of the activities available by coach in the area:

On your doorstep...

Visit the Arromanches site

Arromanches
A small Normandy coastal village, Arromanches - home to an artificial Mulberry Harbour - is located close to ‘Gold’ Beach where 25,000 UK troops landed on 6 June 1944. Here you can visit the D Day Landing Museum and a modern 360° Cinema experience entitled The Price of Freedom.

Visit the site for Bayeux

Bayeux
This historic medieval town is home to the Bayeux Tapestry which famously depicts the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Like many places in the region, Bayeux also has connections with the Normandy landings and is home to the Memorial Museum to the Battle of Normandy.

Visit the Caen web site

Caen
The capital of Lower Nomandy, Caen is famous for its associations with William the Conqueror who founded the city in around 1050 and WW2 when it saw intense fighting and suffered considerable damage. Today, there is a lot to see here including the impressive Norman architecture of the castle, the Men's Abbey and the Ladies Abbey.

The vast Caen 'Peace' Memorial Museum is a 'must-see' for school groups studying 20th Century History, offering a poignant insight into the causes and consequences of war in a mixture of permanent and temporary exhibitions. The sheer scale and variety of this attraction can take nearly a whole day to cover in detail.

Visit the Juno Beach Centre web site

Juno Beach Centre
The only Museum and Memorial in the region dedicated to the war efforts of the Canadians, set on one of the five D-Day landing sites - Juno Beach.

Visit the Normandy Beaches web site

Normandy Beaches
Tour the beaches where the Allied troops landed on D-Day in June 1944. See the memorials and visit the museums that pay tribute to the many thousands of soldiers who took part.

And slightly further afield for day excursions...

Visit the Deauville web site

Deauville
An historic, attractive and popular seaside resort, Deauville is also famous for its international film festivals and horse racing.

Visit the Honfleur web site

Honfleur
A picturesque Lower Normandy seaside town, Honfleur is forever linked with the Impressionist movement and artists such as Eugène Boudin and Claude Monet.

Visit the web site of Le Mont St Michel

Le Mont St Michel
Nearly three and a half million visitors enjoy this picturesque UNESCO World Heritage Site each year. With a history stretching back over a thousand years, Mont St Michel has plenty to offer school groups with its Abbey, museums and shops nestled amongst its winding Medieval streets.

Visit the Rouen web site

Rouen
Dominated by the River Seine and the Notre-Dame Cathedral, this historical city is well worth a visit - following in the footsteps of Richard the Lionheart and Joan of Arc.
