Bayeux
This historic medieval town is home to the Bayeux Tapestry which famously depicts the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Like many places in the region, Bayeux also has connections with the Normandy landings and is home to the Memorial Museum to the Battle of Normandy. |

Caen
The capital of Lower Nomandy, Caen is famous for its associations with William the Conqueror who founded the city in around 1050 and WW2 when it saw intense fighting and suffered considerable damage. Today, there is a lot to
see here including the impressive Norman architecture of the castle, the
Men's Abbey and the Ladies Abbey.
