Valley - Educational Excursions & Attractions
All three of our Loire Valley centres are an
ideal base for schools visiting this picturesque French region.
Here is just a selection of the activities available by coach in the
area:
 |
Amboise
This historic town with its chateau and ancient fortifications was
once the home of the French royal court. This attractive, small market town
on the banks of the Loire River is also the site of the Clos Lucé
residence where Leonardo de Vinci once lived and died. |
 |
Blois
The market centre of the
Loire and also its tourist capital, its remarkable chateau is
accredited as being the model for Versailles and was a favourite
residence of Louis XII. |
 |
Bourges
With its imposing Saint-Etienne Cathedral on the UNESCO World Heritage
list, Bourges is proud of its historical legacy. Away from the Loire Valley
proper, its status as a cultural centre is also assured with a feast of
parks, museums and festivals on offer. |
 |
Chambord
Completed in 1547, the Chateau de Chambord
is one of the most magnificent renaissance castles in France - the largest
in the region with 440 rooms and 85 staircases. Its
majestic setting is perhaps unrivalled and is a must see when visiting the
Loire Valley.

Chenonceau
This chateau built in
1520 over the river Cher, is another magnificent chateau not to be
missed. |

Near Amboise, the most famous of the Loire Valley's Chateaux
are recreated in miniature! 44 models, 6 railways and thousands of figures
are stretched over the 1.5km trail through 2 hectares of landscaped park. Highly recommended. |
