Recently added to our list of centres, this residence is situated right on the seafront in the small fishing port of Grandcamp Maisy, offering views stretching to the Pointe du Hoc. The village is located between D-Day sites of Omaha Beach and Utah Beach. The fish market - with fresh catch every morning - is a short stroll around the corner from the centre. The sea itself presents a wealth of possible recreational activities for school groups, from sailing and kayaking to visiting an oyster farm.

School tours should not miss the charming nearby town of Bayeux, famously home to the tapestry to which it gives its name. Nearly one thousand years old, the ancient document depicting the conquest of England in 1066 is now the focus of a fascinating educational attraction. Medieval Bayeux, with its timber-framed buildings and imposing cathedral, also offers markets, a tourist train as well as memorial museums of the Battle of Normandy and General de Gaulle.
